WEST PALM BEACH, FL (October 13, 2016) – Clerk & Comptroller Sharon R. Bock will host a countywide Passport Fair on Friday, October 21, from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

During this one-day event, three Clerk locations will open for special hours to accept passport applications on a day when Palm Beach County students do not have school. Applications for new adult passports and children’s passports must be submitted in person, which can be a challenge when children are in school.

“We’re always looking for ways to improve service and convenience,” said Clerk Sharon Bock. “With holiday travel approaching, we hope that you take advantage of this special day to submit passport applications so you can spend more time preparing for your trips.”

No appointment is necessary and applicants may either bring a passport photo with them or purchase one at the Clerk’s office.

The following Clerk locations will accept first-time passport applications during the Passport Fair:

  • North County Courthouse: 3188 PGA Boulevard, Palm Beach Gardens
  • South County Courthouse: 200 W. Atlantic Avenue, Delray Beach

  • Certified copy of your birth certificate (must have names of both parents)
  • Certificate of Naturalization

Proof of Identity (Provide one of the following)

  • Previous U.S. Passport
  • Valid Driver’s License (A temporary license does not meet this requirement)
  • State Identification Card
  • Certificate of Naturalization

A new passport book with standard processing and delivery is $110 for an adult and $80 for a child (15 and under) payable to the Department of State, plus a $25 application fee payable to the Clerk & Comptroller, Palm Beach County. Passport cards, photos, expedited processing and overnight delivery are available at an additional cost.

Payments to the Department of State must be made by personal check, cashier’s check or money order ONLY (no cash or credit cards). The separate application fee to the Clerk & Comptroller may be paid by cash, personal check, cashier’s check, money order, MasterCard, Visa, American Express or Discover.

For those who cannot make it to the Passport Fair, passport applications may be submitted Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Clerk & Comptroller’s branch locations at the South County Courthouse in Delray Beach and the North County Courthouse in Palm Beach Gardens; or Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the West County Courthouse in Belle Glade. No appointment is necessary.

Please note: If a passport has been expired for LESS than five years, the passport must be renewed by mail. Customers, whose passports have been expired for MORE than five years, must reapply in person and may use the expired passport as proof of citizenship and identification.
