A tax deed sale is the auction of property on which tax certificates have been sold by the Tax Collector’s Office for delinquent real estate taxes. Tax deed sales are governed by Florida Statutes Chapter 197.

• Tax deed sales are conducted once a month at 9:30 a.m. on designated sale days. Sale days can be obtained from the Palm Beach Daily Business Review or online at the online auction site.

Bidders must deposit funds equal to the greater of 5% of their maximum intended bid or $200 prior to bidding. Advance deposits may be made online through the electronic auction website via ACH transfer at least three (3) full business days before the auction they intend to participate in. In addition, the deposit may be paid by cash, official bank check or cashier’s check presented to the Tax Deeds department by the close of business at 4 p.m. the day before the sale.  Personal checks will not be accepted.

Final payment must be received by the Clerk by 2 p.m. the next business day after the sale and may be made by cash, official bank check, cashier's check or wire transfer. Such wire transfer must be received by the Clerk’s bank by 2 p.m. the next business day after the sale. Final payment may not be made by ACH/electronic check. Personal checks will not be accepted.

The Clerk cannot accept payment for multiple properties on one check.

Redemption payments must be made to the Palm Beach County Tax Collector and NOT the Clerk’s Office.

To request the updated redemption amount owed to redeem your property, which will include any recording fees, call the Clerk’s office at 561-355-2962.

• Cashier’s check from a U.S. banking institution (Checks must be payable to the Tax Collector-Palm Beach County)

Redemption is the satisfaction of delinquent taxes prior to the issuance of a tax deed. Property cannot be redeemed once the Clerk has received full payment for the tax deed.

Click on Product Categories, General Public Record Requests and Current Tax Deed Surplus/Registry Report to see available reports for purchase.

Go to the Tax Deeds Public Search to find property to purchase on Lands Available for Taxes:

• Scroll down to the Disclaimer section of the page and click on accept
• Click on the tab at the top labeled “Lands Available”
• In the search input field type in a start date (no more than three years back)
• Submit to the Clerk’s office a Request for Lands Available form for the property you want to purchase
