eCaseView - 1. General Questions
I get an error when trying to access eCaseView from outside of the United States. What am I doing wrong?
For security purposes, you must use a VPN (virtual private network) to access eCaseView from outside of the United States. The Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller’s office does not explicitly endorse a specific VPN. Any VPN that simulates the user’s traffic as originating in the United States should be sufficient to access eCaseView and eCertify. Here is one option:
- Navigate to https://account.protonvpn.com/signup/account and select Get Free to create a ProtonVPN account.
- Follow the steps on the page to create an account.
- Once your account is created, select the appropriate ProtonVPN Client depending on what kind of computer you are using (Windows/Linux/MacOS, etc.) to download the VPN.
- Install the application.
- Open the application and sign in.
- Once signed in, select to use the United States on the left side of the application as your IP country of origin.
- You should now be able to access eCaseView and eCertify without issue. Remember to disable the VPN after you complete the eCaseView or eCertify transaction, or your computer will run slower than usual.

eCaseView - 2. Privacy and VOR
Protecting privacy is our top priority.
Protected information such as social security or bank account numbers, victim information, certain medical/clinical records and other confidential information pursuant to Florida Rule of Judicial Administration 2.420 will continue to be protected through the redaction of documents. Pursuant to Florida Rule of Judicial Administration 2.425, the filer is responsible for minimizing sensitive information such as a person’s birth date limited to the year of birth, social security numbers, bank account numbers and credit card numbers before filing a document.
Driver’s license records will not be available except to the attorney of record for a case.
Certain documents that could likely contain protected information will initially be “Viewable on Request” (VOR) only and must be reviewed by Clerk staff before they are made available online.
Cases or documents that have been sealed, expunged or are confidential pursuant to general law will not be viewable.
The following case types are not available in eCaseView (no data or documents).
- Juvenile (except for the attorney of record)
- Adoption (except for the attorney of record)
- Marchman Act
- Tuberculosis
- Sexting infractions
- Guardianship settlements
- Pre-need guardian
- Mental health cases filed by adult protective services
- Baker Act
- Petitions for Injunctions until the respondent has been served
Only registered users or the attorney of record can see document images for the following case types.

Protecting privacy is our top priority.
To protect sensitive and confidential information that may be contained in case records, certain documents will initially only be viewable upon request. These documents will be marked with a lock icon in eCaseView.
The first user wishing to view such a document – whether they are an attorney, registered user or anonymous public – must request it through eCaseView. Clerk staff will then review the document to confirm accurate redaction of all sensitive and confidential information. Once the document is approved, it will be available to view by all users going forward (subsequent users will not need to submit another VOR request).
Generally, documents will be reviewed and approved for viewing within 3 business days – taking into account the size of the document, the amount of potentially sensitive/confidential information contained within it and the current review workload.
While a VOR document is being reviewed, a clock icon will be shown. Any user may click on the clock icon to request email notification when the document is ready to view online.
I requested multiple VOR documents, but the email I received only says one of those documents is ready to view. What happened to the other documents I requested?
The other documents may still be in processing.
If you request multiple VOR documents, you may not get them all back at the same time. You will receive a separate email when each document is ready to view.
Generally, documents will be reviewed and approved for viewing within 3 business days – taking into account the size of the document, the amount of potentially sensitive/confidential information contained within it and the current review workload.
Documents containing highly sensitive information may take longer to complete the VOR process.
Florida law contains provisions that protect the display of certain information in court case records on publicly available Internet websites. In accordance with Florida Statute and the Florida Rules of Judicial Administration, the following information may be eligible for redaction:
- Social Security numbers
- Bank account numbers
- Credit or debit card numbers
- Victim information
- Minor’s name when a victim in specific criminal charges
- Clinical, medical and health records
- Other items as specified by law
The Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller uses both electronic and manual processes to redact, or black out, protected information contained in court documents posted online. If such information is inadvertently released, it should be reported so that the images of these documents can be redacted on the website.
To request redaction of protected information from documents on the public website, contact the Clerk’s office at eCaseView-Support@mypalmbeachclerk.com. Include the case number, document name and date, document page number and type of confidential information contained in the document to be reviewed.
Documents that are “in processing” and have a clock icon are waiting for the "View on Request" (VOR) process to complete.
While a VOR document is being reviewed, a clock icon will be shown. Any user may click on the clock icon to request email notification when the document is ready to view online. Or, you may check back later to see if the document has become available.
