There are several reasons why the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) will send a letter. To learn why your license is suspended, check the status of your license online by visiting the FLHSMV Driver License Check.
If your license is suspended for an unresolved ticket, for next steps please visit Past Due Tickets & Cases in Collection.
If your license is suspended for an unpaid court financial obligation, you will need to follow these steps:
- Pay the amount due or set up a payment plan.
- After full payment, or establishing a payment plan, the clerk will provide you with an affidavit of compliance.
- Take the affidavit of compliance to your local FLHSMV office within 30 days. There, you will need to pay the FLHSMV a reinstatement fee of $60 per case.
